Active adventures

The Zgornjesavska Valley provides ample opportunity to leave the well-organised tourist infrastructure at any time and find that genuine contact with nature. The pleasant temperatures and the fresh mountain air guarantee pleasure in discovering countless sights of the valley.

Hiking and biking

Hiking leads the way among the summer activities. There are enough trails for everyone, ranging from the easiest recreational strolls to demanding Alpine tours which require experience, suitable mountaineering or climbing equipment and the assistance of a mountain guide.

Cycling is an almost equally enjoyed summer adventure. You can decide on leisurely pedalling or more demanding trips into the heart of Alpine valleys. The cycling trail of the three countries starting on the three-country border with Austria and Italy allows you to pass through the valley of Radovna and go for a quick visit of Bled. You can leave the well-kept cycling trails and explore numerous rough terrains.

For those looking for their surge of adrenaline, Kranjska Gora offers the Bike Park and its numerous pleasures – freeriding, the adrenaline-filled freeriding over jumps, tables, seesaws and other obstacles. Take the Vitranc 1 ski lift to come to the start of the Bike Park and experience the ride of your life. Those who do not have a bike can enjoy the ride on the Besna Pehta (Furious Pehta) summer toboggan run.

Adrenaline sports

If you want to experience kayaking, rafting or canyoning on a crystal clear river, Soča is not far away. Just go over Vršič. You can enjoy the same water sports somewhat lower, in the downstream part of the Sava River. The Alpine rivers and streams offer countless opportunities for fishing.

The beauty of the scenery might perhaps be seen best from horseback. Let an experienced guide take you from the riding school to nature along one of the bridle paths. You can go on a photo hunt and capture a moment in the life of the animals in their natural habitat.

Those of you, who cannot forget about golfing, can visit the golf course with its four playing areas, a driving range and putting green located at the confluence of the Pisnica and the Sava rivers. In the next few years, the course will develop into a nine-hole course.

If all these activities do not give you your surge of adrenaline, take on alpine climbing and ascend all those peaks which served as the training ground for Slovene mountaineers before going on to conquer the Himalayas.
