Experience the fun at the gaming and entertainment centres and casinos of Kranjska Gora. You can spend just a few cents and experience much more than that. Relax while gaming and watch a dance show or famous musicians perform or enjoy in the culinary delights.
World Cup competitions
For a number of years, we have been offering our visitors more or less traditional events. The most famous is undoubtedly Slovenia’s biggest sporting event, the Ski Jumping World Cup and the Ski Flying competition in Planica. With its numerous spectators and the special atmosphere below the giant ski jump facility, Planica is a true sports festival in Slovenia. After the competition, you can attend the interesting Navijaška vas Kranjska Gora - Open Air Planica.
Side by side with Planica is the second major sports event, the Vitranc Cup and the accompanying entertaining musical event, the Q Max Party.
The locals of Kranjska Gora awake the spring with a merry carnival, where you can eat your fill of doughnuts and take part in the carnival giant slalom. A wonderful adventure is also the lighting of the bonfires when the entire Zgornjesavska Valley is illuminated by numerous bonfires.
July and August offer the opportunity to visit any of the countless musical, theatrical or dance events or animations of rural games.
The ascent of Vršič
The ascent of Vršič is a dream adventure for every bike enthusiast. Every year, this event sees more than a thousand unyielding bikers riding all 25 serpentine turns to the summit of the mountain pass.
The autumn brings you an actual Halloween with the carving of pumpkins, illusionists and many other attractions. The festive December will start with the boogeymen (Parkeljni) from the three countries. The annual start of the winter season will entertain you with a wind band, the performance of ski schools and ski instructors accompanied by a concert, fireworks and a free night skiing! The Christmas and New Year events offer you the live Christmas crib in ice and the illuminated Peričnik waterfall in Mojstrana.
Cultural and ethnological events
If old customs interest you, visit the traditional cultural and ethnological event, the Village day in Rateče, where you will be shown the old customs and crafts and offered home-made doughnuts, nut rolls, minced lard… Other events worth visiting are the Aljaž event, an evening in the village, The Mihel Fair, the gathering on the three-country border and many others. One of the most interesting cultural and ethnological events is definitely the Hiking of the boogeymen (Parkeljnov).
