The Zgornjesavska Valley with its mystical past full of mythological creatures must influence a writer’s and a child’s imagination. There are numerous lively adventures awaiting the latter, stirring it up even more and giving you a few hours of not having to entertain the youngest family members.

Adventures for children

Only children between the ages of 3 and 10 are allowed to visit Kekec land where Kekec will offer them sour milk and corn mush and show them his hut, telling them stories from a long time ago. Kekec makes sure the children meet the other characters from Josip Vandot’s mountain world: the wicked Bedancec, the herbalist aunt Pehta, the wise Vitranc, friendly Mojca and the fearful Rožle.

In the mysterious region of Gozd-Martuljek, dwarfs appear especially for your children, leaving traces for them to let them know that they are on the right track. When they enter the Land of the dwarfs, the dwarfs no longer hide but introduce themselves. On the trail of the Triglav fairytales in Dovje and Mojstrana, your children learn seven new fairytales and enjoy the giant’s biscuit.

You and your family can spend a creative day at the Kekec festival, where, in addition to spending time with Kekec, his heroes and dwarfs, the youngest family members will enjoy Lego workshops and water follies, participate in the mini football championship, row along Lake Jasna, practice archery and enjoy several other activities.
