An old house refurbished with a loving hand

Take a walk to the village of Srednji Vrh and experience the story of the Hlebanj Homestead. This one had a completely different fate from many other homesteads where young people left them in the hope of better earnings and the abandoned houses were affected by moisture and time.

The Hlebanj Homestead from the year of 1827, also known as the Bukovje Homestead, was taken over in 1970 by the heir Jože Hlebanje who carried out extensive refurbishment. Its mighty hip roof is again covered with small grey split boards, the walls are again carefully plastered and the interior equipped with old furniture.

The house lives on, and like the whole village of Srednji Vrh maintains its appearance of an old, but lively Alpine village
