When a mountain guide becomes the owner of an inn...

When the Šmerc Homestead in Mojstrana, which was built by Bavarian Schmerz in 1778, was taken over by Jurij Skumavec Šmerc, one of the first mountain guides in Mojstrana, in the second half of the 19th century, it became the meeting point of respectable guests. Among them were a lawyer, writer and mountaineer Julius Kugy and the German poet Rudolf Baumbach, who was said to have written the well-known Tale about the Goldhorn in this very inn.

Admire the beautiful frescoes of St. Florian, Mary of Lussari and St. Michael, marking the inns with accommodation facilities on the pilgrimage route to the Holy Mount Lussari
