Story of the man who said NO.

Ivan Brence – Pehtut was the head of a farm and always kept his word. When the Austro-Hungarian soldiers wanted to take his ox, he declined. They took him to jail, and then to court. There, he stuck by his decision: “What I said is final!” They condemned him to death and in 1915 he was shot in Ljubljana.
A memorial plaque bears witness to his existence at the entrance of his home.
