Jasna Lake

Reflections of mountains in the crystal clear lake water.

Before the first road bends to Vršič, stop for a short break at the Jasna Lake. It consists of two interconnected artificial lakes at the confluence of the Velika Pišnica and Mala Pišnica streams.

Bathers and other visitors can enjoy the piers and a 6-metre-high viewing platform at Lake Jasna. You can also cool off with a refreshing drink or ice cream by the lake and enjoy the view of the beautiful Julian Alps in the background. In the evenings, you can listen to musical performances with the beautiful natural scenery of Razor and Prisank. You can walk around Jasna on the well-maintained paths, and you can also enjoy fishing, as Jasna is a well-known fishing area. Of course, only fly-fishing is allowed.

The Kneipp Path

The Kneipp Path is located near the lake and is intended for hikers who want a relaxing foot massage after a tiring walk. The circular Kneipp path is made of stones with cold mountain water running over them. Walking through the alternating cold-hot baths has positive effects on health and general well-being. Walking in cold water is known to revitalise the body, help strengthen the immune system and relieve the effects of stress. Massaging your feet with stones of different sizes will help you relax, affect the intervertebral discs and balance blood pressure.

Wooden photo frame and bronze ibex

Lake Jasna is surrounded by mighty mountains and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Of course, with such beautiful views, you can’t go without taking photos, and we’ve provided the perfect setting. The wooden photo frame with the Kosobrin from the children’s story of Kekec, framing the natural backdrop of the mountains, will entice you to take some more photos. The mountains Razor and the Prisojnik in the background will make for an unforgettable souvenir photo. For many years, the main attraction at Lake Jasna has been the bronze statue of the ibex, which stands on a natural rock and is one of the most photographed spots at the lake, making it a true symbol of the lake.

Library by the lake

Bookworms are catered for with the well-stocked lakeside library, which operates on the principle of 1 book donated, 1 book chosen. When you feel like relaxing with a book in your hand, the Lakeside Library offers you the chance to choose an interesting book that will take you to an imaginary world. Find your own corner by the lake and immerse yourself in the story with the sounds of the birds. Once you’ve read the book, return it to its place and let other reading enthusiasts escape to an imaginary world.
